The structure of a financial advisor firm matters. It directly impacts the advice you receive.
Means Wealth is an independent, fee-only fiduciary firm. We do not sell proprietary products, earn commissions, or receive compensation from third parties. Our compensation comes directly from our clients, which helps align our recommendations with their long-term goals.
We also take a comprehensive, coordinated approach, integrating investment management with financial planning and working closely with your other advisors, such as your accountant and attorney. Our clients benefit from institutional-quality resources and disciplined investment frameworks, combined with a more personal, relationship-driven experience. Ultimately, our focus is on building long-term partnerships and helping clients make thoughtful decisions over time.
We focus on three primary areas: individual and family wealth management, nonprofit and institutional portfolios, and retirement plans.
Our individual clients are often business owners, professionals, retirees, or those approaching retirement who have built meaningful assets and are looking for thoughtful, coordinated guidance. We also partner with nonprofit organizations and institutions managing long-term assets, as well as retirement plan committees responsible for overseeing employee benefits.
While each relationship is unique, our clients share a common goal: they value disciplined investing, clear communication, and a long-term partnership.
Because our work is comprehensive and ongoing, our services are generally best suited for families with $1 million or more in investable assets, institutions with $3 million or more, and retirement plans exceeding $10 million.
That said, we recognize that every situation is unique. In some cases, particularly when there are meaningful planning opportunities or a longer-term relationship in mind, we’re happy to have a conversation to see if there’s a fit.
We are a fee-only wealth management firm and registered investment advisor. Our primary compensation is a transparent fee based on the assets we manage on your behalf. In certain situations, we also provide standalone financial or exit planning services for a fixed or project-based fee.
We do not receive commissions for the sale of investment products, and our compensation is designed to come directly from the clients we serve.
That alignment matters. It means our recommendations are grounded in what we believe is best for you and focused on your goals and long-term success.
No. The initial meeting is complimentary. It’s a chance for us to learn more about your goals and priorities, and for you to determine whether our approach is a good fit for you.
We start with a conversation. No pressure, just a chance to understand what’s important to you and what you’re looking for.
If it feels like a good fit, we’ll take a closer look at your current situation and share our perspective on what’s working, what could be improved, and where we can add value.
From there, we’ll outline next steps and begin moving forward together, bringing structure and clarity to your financial picture at a pace that feels right for you.
You’ll work with a dedicated advisory team that understands your full financial picture.
We take a team-based approach, which means you benefit from the collective experience of our firm while still having consistent, direct access to the people who know you and your goals.
We take a disciplined, long-term approach to investing.
Our portfolios are built using diversified, cost-efficient investments and are aligned with your goals, time horizon, and tolerance for risk. We focus on evidence-based strategies, thoughtful asset allocation, and ongoing monitoring and rebalancing. Our role is to bring structure, clarity, and consistency so your investments are working quietly and effectively in the background of your life.
